CYRON
FAQ

Common questions

For anything specific to your operation, talk to us directly. Otherwise the answers below cover the most-asked.

01Do operators need a pilot license to use Cyron drones?
No specialist pilot training required. Cyron runs L3–L4 autonomous flight: operator describes the mission in natural language, drone plans and executes. Local airspace compliance handled per deployment region.
02Where are Cyron drones currently deployed?
30+ countries. Concentrated agricultural deployments across Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and emerging operations in Thailand. HQ in Hong Kong, R&D in Hangzhou.
03Can the platform be customized for my industry?
Yes. Programmable flight controller (ARM + FPGA), 20+ sensor types, modular payload bay (EO/thermal, LIDAR, mmWave, megaphone, mechanical arm, air-drop). Talk to a solutions engineer for industry-specific configs.
04What is Smart Pilot?
Smart Pilot is the universal autonomy brain across our V/H/A/R airframes — also offered as IaaS+PaaS to industrial drone, eVTOL, and AMR makers. Built on a decade of programmable flight controller experience since 2015.
05How does Cyron differ from DJI Enterprise or Skydio?
DJI is hardware-led with traditional pilot operation. Skydio focuses on autonomous flight, not embodied intelligence. Cyron is talk-to-task autonomy plus embodied payload interaction (megaphone, manipulation, air-drop) — the drone perceives, decides, and acts.
06What about data privacy and security?
Most inference on-device — imagery and sensor data don't round-trip to the cloud unless configured. Encrypted comms, RTK positioning, customer-controlled retention. See privacy policy for site-data handling.
07Can I purchase a single unit or only fleet-scale?
Both. Single-platform for evaluation and pilots; fleet-scale with autonomous docking and operations console for ongoing programs.
08What's the typical engagement timeline?
Discovery and scoping: 1–2 weeks. Pilot deployment: 4–8 weeks (regulation-dependent). Production rollout varies by program scale. Spec sheets and timelines on request.
09Are Cyron drones used for military applications?
No. Cyron is civilian / industrial. Platforms serve inspection, mapping, agriculture, security & patrol, and emergency response. Defense and weaponized use out of scope.
10How do you handle dual-use risk for Security & Patrol / Emergency Response?
Scoped to civilian critical-infrastructure (industrial parks, chemical plants, pipelines, fire/SAR). End-use screened at sales. Engagements outside this scope declined.
11What are your warranty and support terms?
Standard warranty covers manufacturing defects. Service tiers (response SLA, on-site support, training, software updates) scoped per program in the MSA.
12How do you compare with consumer drones (DJI Mavic / Air)?
Industrial-class platform: heavier payloads, longer endurance, multi-modal sensors (LIDAR + thermal + radar), all-weather IP67 versions, autonomous docking, programmable flight stack. Different segment from consumer photography drones.
